Soft curvatures in these lightweight dangles call to mind ornamentation from the past. The simplicity of the metalwork allows the focus to remain in the detail the silhouette creates. When making her powder coated, metal jewelry, Buchanan focuses on image, pattern and decoration in order to reference ornamentation and historical jewelry. The goal is to create wearable works of art that push the boundaries of jewelry while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic.
